Academician Yu believes that the key development areas of textile intelligent manufacturing should focus on four aspects: The first is textile intelligent optimization manufacturing, with the aim of improving product quality, improving total factor productivity, and developing flexible manufacturing capabilities. The second is the scale of textile and apparel customization, the purpose is to adapt to changes in consumer demand, enhance product added value and enhance brand influence. The third is the collaborative manufacturing of textiles and garments, with the aim of producing comprehensive interconnection, lean manufacturing and agile manufacturing, energy conservation, consumption reduction and emission reduction in the manufacturing process. The fourth is the key technologies to be developed including sensing technology, digital identification technology, Wi-Fi technology, Web technology, and big data technology. The construction of the textile intelligent manufacturing system should be based on the process basis, digital and networked, intelligent implementation path. Textile smart factories should contain all aspects of production equipment, production management, data collection, data management, data analysis, and industry development.

Finally, Academician Yu believes that there are six key points in the intelligent manufacturing of textile enterprises. As the main body of promoting intelligent manufacturing, the enterprise must realistically explore the technical path suitable for its transformation and upgrading. The fifth is to digitize the business and digitize various state information of enterprise manufacturing resources, business processes, and supply chain management.
